The Alexandria Police Department is currently responding to a two-vehicle crash involving a commercial 18-wheeler on I-49 southbound at the Broadway exit.
At this time, all southbound traffic on I-49 is being diverted onto the Broadway exit. The roadway is expected to remain closed for an extended period.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and seek alternate routes. Drivers should use caution, follow posted detours, and allow additional travel time.
