Warrants

Warrant Division

The Alexandria Police Department’s Warrant Division is responsible for the service of all criminal warrants that are issued by the courts, and any other documents of arrest. The Warrant Division works hand-in-hand with all divisions in the police department, utilizing various computer databases to enter and maintain every warrant received and to investigate the whereabouts of these individuals with the goal of eventually bringing about their arrest.

Duties include:

  • 24/7 “hit confirmation” for officers and other agencies checking the status of warrants
  • Sending warrant abstracts to arresting agencies
  • Managing “due diligence” documentation, purging expired warrants, updating local, state, and national databases
  • Providing services to members of the public who “self-surrender”

The Alexandria Police Department Warrant Division is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5:00 PM, and closed on weekends and holidays.

WARNING: IF YOU FAIL TO DISPOSE OF YOUR ACTIVE WARRANTS, THE ALEXANDRIA POLICE DEPARTMENT’S WARRANT DIVISION WILL ACTIVELY PURSUE YOUR ARREST AT YOUR HOME, PLACE OF BUSINESS OR ANY OTHER LOCATION.
