Alexandria, LA for release (5/29/24)
This evening around 7:00 PM, a barricaded adult suspect was removed from a home located on the edge of the South Circle in Alexandria. The suspect had confronted Louisiana Probation and Parole officers earlier in the day, the suspect had brandished a firearm toward law enforcement. Law enforcement surrounded the house and began negotiations for nearly three hours. The immediate family indicated the suspect struggled with mental illness challenges. Negotiation and non-lethal tactics resulted in the successful apprehension of the suspect. There was no loss of life or shots fired. The South Circle required closure to protect life and ensure the safety of the high volume of motorists as the interaction began around 4:00 PM.
