Alexandria, LA, for release (9/30/26)
On September 29, 2026, at approximately 10:15 a.m., the Alexandria Police Department responded to the 3500 block of Evergreen Street in reference to a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers learned that one person had been struck by gunfire. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
During the investigation, detectives encountered a lack of cooperation from both the victim and a witness to the shooting. The Alexandria Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
“Witness cooperation is critical to our ability to solve violent crimes and hold those responsible accountable,” said Alexandria Police Chief Chad Gremillion. “Our detectives can only act on the information and evidence available to them. When victims or witnesses refuse to cooperate, it makes these investigations significantly more difficult and can result in cases remaining unsolved. We need the community’s help, and we strongly encourage anyone with information about this shooting to speak with our investigators.”
This is currently an ongoing investigation.
