Alexandria, LA for release (1/12/26)
On Monday, January 12, 2026, at approximately 6:00 a.m., the Alexandria Police Department, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Police and Louisiana Probation and Parole, executed a search warrant in the 3800 block of Ellis Street.
As a result of the search, investigators seized approximately $76,000 in cash, marijuana, and a stolen handgun.
The target of the investigation, Markeese Dorsey, 24, was arrested and charged with Distribution of CDS-1. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
Alexandria Police Chief Chad Gremillion commented on the investigation, stating:
“Illegal guns and drugs drive violence in our neighborhoods. This arrest, made possible through partnerships with other law enforcement agencies, shows our commitment to taking dangerous offenders off the streets and protecting Alexandria.”
The Alexandria Police Department would like to thank the Louisiana State Police and Louisiana Probation and Parole for their assistance and collaboration during this investigation. Their partnership and dedication were instrumental in the successful execution of this operation.
