On Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 10:39 P.M., the Alexandria Police responded to a report of a shooting incident at Levin Street and Chester Street. Responding officers discovered a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital and remains in critical condition.
On Thursday, May 18, 2023, the Alexandria Police Detectives secured an arrest warrant for Norman Coty on one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder. Coty, a 29-year-old black male, is considered armed and dangerous.
