On Saturday, June 3, 2023, the Alexandria Police Department was dispatched to the intersection of Texas Avenue and Monroe Street in reference to a hit-and-run traffic crash. The person operating a motorized scooter was struck by what a witness describes as a dark or gray vehicle; possibly a SUV. The operator of the scooter was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
This is currently an ongoing investigation.
