Alexandria, LA, for release (4/1/26)
On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at approximately 11:11 hours, the Alexandria Police Department responded to a hit-and-run crash involving pedestrians on Eddie Williams Avenue near the intersection of Tulane Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers learned that two pedestrians, a 16-year-old male and a 16-year-old female, were standing on the right side of the roadway on the shoulder when they were struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Eddie Williams Avenue. The vehicle fled the scene immediately following the crash.
Both victims were transported to Rapids Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. A short time later, 16-year-old Collin Lacaze succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
This incident remains under investigation. The Alexandria Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Alexandria Police Department.
