Alexandria, Louisiana – The City of Alexandria and the APD are pleased to report that good police work and record investment in our officers and equipment have Alexandria moving in the right direction once again.
The crime data and trends speak for themselves, including a 48% drop in overall homicides since this administration took over. Chief Gremillion also noted APD’s homicide clearance rate approaching 90% for 2024, which is significantly higher than the national average.
When compared to the previous administration’s highest homicide year, Alexandria currently shows a 64% drop. Property crimes are down significantly from 2022-2024, including approaching 50% in both unauthorized entries and aggravated burglaries.
