Alexandria, LA, for release (3/13/26)
On Sunday, March 8, 2026, the Alexandria Police Department responded to the 6100 block of North Bolton Avenue in reference to an unresponsive four-year-old child. The child was transported to a local hospital, where the child passed away.
In the following days, a forensic autopsy was conducted on the child, which revealed significant trauma. Based on the evidence gathered, a warrant for 32-year-old Donald Garrett Jr was obtained.
On Thursday, March 12, 2026, Garrett was arrested following a traffic stop and foot pursuit. Garrett was charged with one count of second-degree murder and other charges relating to the traffic stop.
This is currently an ongoing investigation.
