Alexandria, LA, for release (7/8/26)
The Alexandria Police Department is announcing significant developments in the case of 22-year-old JaKobey Kahey, who was initially reported missing on July 5, 2026. Following a rigorous investigation, detectives have uncovered evidence indicating foul play, and the case has officially transitioned into a suspected homicide investigation.
The ongoing probe has led to the arrest of two suspects in connection with the death of Mr. Kahey. On July 8, 2026, authorities arrested 20-year-old Taylor Jenkins in Killeen, Texas, and 25-year-old Daviyone Mock in Alexandria. Both are charged with Second-Degree Murder. Additional charges and arrests are possible as detectives continue to gather evidence.
Although investigators have determined that Mr. Kahey is deceased, his remains have not yet been located. Detectives continue to pursue all available investigative leads and are actively searching for his recovery.
“This is a heartbreaking case for Mr. Kahey’s family, and our thoughts remain with them during this incredibly difficult time,” said Alexandria Police Chief Chad Gremillion. “While these arrests represent significant progress, our work is far from over. We remain committed to locating Mr. Kahey’s remains, bringing every person responsible to justice, and providing his family with the answers and closure they deserve. We ask anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward and help us complete this investigation.”

Their professionalism, cooperation, and coordinated efforts were instrumental in advancing the investigation and bringing those responsible into custody.
