The Alexandria Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred earlier this month.
On June 17, 2026, Alexandria Police Department detectives arrested 25-year-old Henry Nelson III for his alleged involvement in the incident. Nelson has been charged with three counts of Attempted Second-Degree Murder.
The charges stem from an incident on June 8, 2026. At approximately 9:30 PM, officers responded to a local hospital after receiving reports that an individual had arrived seeking treatment for injuries sustained during a drive-by shooting.
A subsequent investigation determined that the shooting occurred near the intersection of Jones Avenue and University Street. Three victims were involved in the incident, one of whom suffered minor injuries.
This is currently an ongoing investigation.
