Alexandria, LA, for release (9/7/26)
On Monday, September 7, 2026, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Alexandria Police Department officers located a stolen vehicle from Montgomery County, Texas, that had been the subject of a law enforcement BOLO (Be On the Lookout).
While actively patrolling, APD officers identified the vehicle based on information provided in the BOLO and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, and a brief pursuit ensued.
The pursuit ended when the stolen vehicle was involved in a traffic crash at the intersection of Coliseum Boulevard and MacArthur Drive. The driver, a 16-year-old juvenile, was injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital for treatment. No officers or members of the public were injured during the incident.
Chief Chad Gremillion emphasized that the incident demonstrates the importance of officers remaining alert and aware of information being shared among law enforcement agencies. The officers’ attentiveness to the BOLO allowed them to quickly identify and locate a stolen vehicle from another jurisdiction as it traveled through Alexandria.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
