Alexandria, LA for release (5/13/25)
The Alexandria Police Department will be participating in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) Click It or Ticket campaign from May 19, 2025 through June 1, 2025.
This annual safety initiative is designed to increase seat belt use across all age groups, reduce serious injuries and fatalities from traffic crashes, and raise public awareness about the life-saving benefits of seat belts. Officers will be out in full force during this period to enforce seat belt laws and help keep our community safe.
“Wearing a seat belt is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself on the road,” said Alexandria Police Chief Chad Gremillion. “Through education and enforcement, we hope to encourage all drivers and passengers to buckle up—every seat, every trip.”
The Alexandria Police Department urges all residents to do their part: click your seat belt every time, and make sure everyone in your vehicle does the same. Let’s work together to prevent unnecessary injuries and save lives.
