Shooting in the 200 block of Bayou Drive

On Friday, November 15, 2024, at approximately 5:53 a.m., the Alexandria Police Department (“APD”) responded to the 200 block of Bayou Drive in reference to a shooting. The victim was shot at close range in what appears to be a targeted attempt. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

 

This is currently an ongoing investigation, and APD/SAFEAlex will deploy additional investigative and operational measures to address future crime through other means at its disposal, including code enforcement. Crime prevention dealing with risks aggravated by negative or abandoned structures being inhabited in violation of law are a particular risk in need of abatement. More to follow.
