On Saturday, July 12, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Alexandria Police Department responded to the South Traffic Circle in reference to reports of gunfire between the occupants of two vehicles. During the incident, an innocent motorist’s vehicle was also struck. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
The suspect vehicle involved in the shooting was described as a blue Chevrolet Malibu.
Additionally, on Sunday, July 13, 2025, detectives with the Alexandria Police Department located a second vehicle believed to be involved —a white Ford Crown Victoria.
Through further investigation, detectives have determined this to be a targeted incident involving two rival groups. The Alexandria Police Department would like to emphasize that this was an isolated event. It remains safe to travel through Alexandria, including the South Traffic Circle.
This matter remains under active investigation. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is urged to contact the Alexandria Police Department.
