Alexandria, LA for release (8/24/24)
On Saturday, August 24, 2024, at approximately 10:00 AM the Alexandria Police Department responded to the 1000 block of MacArthur Drive in reference to a person suffering from a gunshot wound. The person was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Approximately an hour later the suspect in this case, 33-year-old Jeralmy Sumbler of Glenmora LA turned himself in to authorities. Sumbler was charged with one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder and one count of Domestic Abuse Battery. Investigators are categorizing this incident as a domestic-related shooting.
This is currently an ongoing investigation.
