Alexandria, LA for release (9/13/24)
On Friday, September 13, 2024, at approximately 7:30 PM the Alexandria Police Department responded to the 3400 block of Jackson Street in reference to a shooting. The Alexandria Police Department confirms a domestic-related incident involving a male subject who entered hisbusiness and shot three related individuals before turning a gun on himself and taking his own life. Of the three individuals shot by the gunman, one is deceased and the other two are in critical condition at a local hospital. The names of the deceased will be updated at a later time pending notification of the next of kin. The Alexandria Police Department would like to reassure citizens there is no continuing threat to public safety from this incident, acknowledging the horrendous and unnecessary loss of life. The Alexandria Police Department will continue itsinvestigation of all aspects of the case and encourages anyone with knowledge of what may have led to this loss of life to come forward.
