On Saturday, December 14, 2024, at approximately 11:00 PM the Alexandria Police Department responded to the 2300 block of Alma Street in reference to a shooting. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The Alexandria Police Department arrested 41-year-old Demetrius Collins of Alexandria LA in connection with this case. Collins is charged with one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder and one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
This is currently an ongoing investigation.
