Arrest Made After Shooting in the 3700 Block of 3rd Street

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, at approximately 10:30 PM, the Alexandria Police Department responded to the 3700 block of 3rd Street in reference to a shooting inside a convenience store. The responding officers were able to locate and arrest the shooter, 48-year-old Glendell Wesley. Wesley was charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, negligent carry of a concealed handgun, possession of CDS II, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm with drugs, and resisting an officer. Fortunately, no one was injured during this incident.

This is currently an ongoing investigation.
