APD Investigating Fatal Incident on Lee Street

Alexandria, LA for release (10/18/24)

On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m., the Alexandria Police Department responded to an incident on Lee Street at the I-49 bridge, where a person was found severely burned. The individual, later identified as 45-year-old Joshua Williams, was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, Mr. Williams was then transferred to Our Lady of the Lourdes Burn Unit in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Tragically, despite medical efforts, Mr. Williams succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, October 17, 2024.

This is currently an ongoing investigation.
