By participating in the Alexandria Security Technology On Patrol camera registration program all registrants agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. If your camera may have captured necessary footage of a criminal act the Alexandria Police Department may contact you directly, using the information provided at the time of registration, to request the necessary video footage.
2. All video footage shall remain the property of the registrant until it is requested by the Alexandria Police Department and voluntarily collected from the registrant by an Alexandria Police officer. Participation in this program does not constitute an obligation to release surveillance video footage to the Alexandria Police Department.
3. Any and all footage containing or related to criminal activity collected by the Alexandria Police Department may be used as evidence during any stage of a criminal proceeding. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
4. Participation in this program does Not allow the Alexandria Police Department to obtain, collect or view video footage without the expressed consent of the registrant.
5. At no time will the Alexandria Police Department have direct or remote access to your cameras or camera system.
6. Participation in this program does not authorize participants to act as an agent and/or employee of the City of Alexandria nor the Alexandria Police Department.
